A problem with the way this is being reported / responded to is that the Airline is entitled to ask people to leave the plane and they do not have the right of refusal. At the base level this is a refusal to recognise and respect lawful authority.

P.S. I can understand that a person may not want to miss their flight, especially if it’s been planned for a long time or there is something important they need to do at the other end, But the contract you enter into with the airline doesn’t guarantee you what you may be expecting.
